The 2016 State Teams Age Short Course Championships Teams have now been selected and Wellington has 3 representatives; Sophie Irving - Capital, Ruby Heath - SwimZone Racing and George Dorrington - Karori Pirates.

American Jerry Olszewski will become Swimming New Zealand’s new national head coach, taking up the role in September. He will take over from Clive Power, who has been the acting head coach for the past year. Olszewski has been coaching at the top club level in the USA for more than 25 years, developing young swimmers to Olympics and national teams. He has also had considerable experience in the business of swim coaching, administration and organisation.
Sport Wellington in partnership with Wellington High Performance Aquatics is excited to have Wayne Goldsmith in Wellington again to present a workshop targeting parents, coaches and athletes on identifying and developing talent, and how to produce winning performances. The workshop is titled Developing Talent.
