Wellington Harbour Challenge 2021 Entries Open

Entries are now open for the Wellington Harbour Challenge, which returns for its second year, taking place on Wellington's iconic waterfront. The event is open to swimming New Zealand members and recreational swimmers and will take place on Saturday morning, February 27th.

Bring together a team of swimmers from the office, or challenge your local club mates to take on one of 3 distances in Wellington's harbour. Swimmers from around the regions will bring support crews to cheer on their friends, family and team mates as open water swimming becomes a favoured pastime during the Capital's summer months. Water safety will be provided by our support crew and the near-by shipping containers and food stalls will provide morning refreshments for all those dedicated supporters.

The competitive and social swimming communities will compete to become the 2021 Harbour Challenge champions in the 3 events of 1.25km, 2.5km and 5km. Swimmers will race against peers in Junior, Open and Masters categories, giving extra incentive to buddy up and train together. For those who are keen to find out more about open water swimming, get in touch with you local club or region for more information. Any swimmer who is 12 or over can challenge themselves by entering this event.
