Swimming Wellington opens Board nominations

Swimming Wellington is already looking ahead to the AGM to identify people who can add value and experience to the Swimming Wellington Board and to swimming in our region. We encourage enthusiastic candidates to be put forward to give member clubs the best set of candidates to select from at the election at the AGM. 

Swimming Wellington Board members contribute to the overall sport of swimming in our region by setting the strategic direction, setting priorities and making decisions that affect all those involved in our sport.

The Board has identified the following skills as the skills it is most focused on recruiting at this year's AGM:

  • commercial and promotional experience 
  • business management 
  • knowledge of the swimming environment
  • financial management.

While these are focus areas for the Board, the Board recognises diversity of skills, backgrounds and experience is an important factor in being successful. Applications are encouraged from people with other skills and experience that would benefit Swimming Wellington, including knowledge of whole-of-sport developments and sports governance.
